In my dream there were alien spiders that would sink their fangs into people and suck them dry (kind of like zombies). The dream starts with me at my mom's house checking on her. (She passed away 6 years ago). I was sitting by her bed whispering to her so the spiders wouldn't hear me and come. My mom was blind and couldn't get around very well. I couldn't get her to leave and come with me. I left her there and came back the next day to check on her again. I sat by her side on the bed whispering to her again. I said 'mom do you hear me, at least answer me ". She seemed to just stare straight forward. I leaned in to whisper again and her hair lightly moved. She turned in my direction as if she knew I was there. I grab her and tried to hold and hug her and realized my hands went through her. I was actually dead and back to check on her but I didn't realize it until that moment. She knew I was there and I woke up.
Dreams involving deceased loved ones can often be deeply emotional and reflect our feelings of loss, unresolved issues, or a desire for connection. Your dream incorporates several potent symbols:
Alien Spiders: These may represent feelings of helplessness or fear. Spiders are often associated with feelings of being trapped or overwhelmed. The fact that they suck the life out of people could symbolize your fear of losing more connections or being consumed by grief. They may also signify anxiety about external forces that affect your loved ones, emphasizing worry about how other elements in life might “drain” those you care about.
Your Mother’s Presence: Visiting your mother's home and checking on her demonstrates your continuing connection, love, and desire to support her, even after her passing. The act of whispering to her to keep the spiders at bay shows your protective feelings, indicating that you still want to shield your mother from harm, even in a dream state.
Blindness and Inability to Move: Your mother’s blindness could symbolize the feeling of loss and the inability to perceive or react in a certain way due to her death. This dynamic can reflect your feelings about her passing—perhaps a sense of frustration that she cannot see or understand your pain or your efforts to connect with her.
Your Realization of Being Dead: The moment you realize you are dead encapsulates a profound moment of self-reflection. It suggests that you are coming to terms with your own feelings about loss and the barriers between you and your mom. It can indicate a need for closure or a longing to reconcile your grief.
Hugging and Passing Through: The attempt to hug your mother and the realization that you cannot touch her emphasizes the separation and distance death creates. It reflects your ongoing struggle to connect emotionally with her and may also display the deep longing for the kind of closeness you once had.
In summary, this dream delves into themes of grief, loss, connection, and the deep emotional bond that transcends life and death. It may be encouraging you to process your feelings about your mother’s passing and to find a way to acknowledge her presence in your life, even in a different form. Consider reflecting on the emotions you felt in the dream and how they relate to your waking life, as dreams can often provide insight into our subconscious thoughts and feelings.
